How To Get Stretched Resolution In Fortnite Chapter 4! (Updated 2023)

I've noticed that there's a lot of outdated tutorials on how to get a stretched resolution in fortnite on YouTube, so I thought I'd make a quick updated tutorial explaining exactly how it's done for chapter four, as well as that I'll also be suggesting the best stretch resolutions that you should be using right now, so you can benefit from high FPS bigger hitboxes and lower input delay, starting off with the res recommendations depending on what T your PC is this can influence the decision on what stretch resolution you should be using if you've got a medium to high-end PC, I would recommend 1720x1080 or 1650 by 1080 or even 1440x1080 as with any of these right here you'll benefit mainly from better aim

as a lower resolution you go the more stretched the player models will be or will look like they'll be as well as that the visibility is great on these stretched resolutions too same with the FPS you will get a pretty big FPS booster even though you won't need it and if you've got a potato PC to a low end PC, I would recommend using 768x480 or 1280x960 as with any of these two resolutions here you'll notice that the visibility isn't really the best but the FPS you'll gain from using any of these will make it worth it as you'll get a significant FPS boost along with all the other benefits of using a stretched res, alternatively you can use the infamous potato PC graphics however do be warned it's not a stretched resolution and it does require additional steps but I'll leave my tutorial in the description below, now if you are interested now that you guys should have picked a stretched resolution to use I myself have chosen mortar's res which is 1440x1080 let me now explain how to set up a stretched resolution in fortnite chapter 4.

alright so first things first you want to head over to your desktop and press the Windows key plus r at the same time, this will then bring up the Rune box inside of this type in the following command that's percentage sign “Local app data” and then percentage sign again just like so this will then bring up your local folder you want to find the fortnite game folder by pressing F open up fortnite game then you want to open up saved then you want to open up config then Windows client and then inside of here you should see your config file which is the game user settings file firstly you want to go ahead and right click on this click properties and make sure the read-only box is unchecked as if it's actually checked you cannot edit it so make sure it's unchecked firstly once you've done that you want to right click on the file and then press edit once you've done that you should be inside of the config file inside of here you want to scroll down to your about 90 of the way down, I mean you should see a few sections which are related to the resolution there's one section right here and then just below that there should be a last confirmed one right here too

there should be basically two groups of four as you can see right here what you want to do is whatever the resolution that you've chosen you want to change all of them to matches so as you can see the default one is 1920x1080 I want to change my resolution to 1440 so I'm going to go ahead and copy that for all of these M4 right here just like so and once you've touched all of these you should be good to go just go ahead press on file then press on Save just like so when you want to close it down you then want to right click on the game user settings file or config file again before you go click on properties and then what you want to do now is you want to click the read only box and once you've pressed applied and press OK this will stop fortnite from automatically changing your resolution back to Native which it will try and do but do be warned you cannot change any of your settings in fortnite if you have this read-only box checked now you want to head back over to your desktop you want to right click and press on the Nvidia control panel once you inside the Nvidia control panel you firstly want to click on adjust desktop size and position you then want to make sure that the scalar mode is on full screen and then just below that where it says performing on you want to make sure that this is on display

once you've done that you want to click on the change resolution button and inside of here this is where we're going to customize our new resolution so go ahead and click on customize

and inside of here you want to create your custom resolution so mine is 1440 by 1080. make sure this is matched into the one you set up in the config then press test it's very possible that your screen might go black for a couple of seconds do not worry once it's finished going black it should show up with your new resolution right there in the M selection box press OK and then from here you can go ahead and select it what

I recommend doing is actually applying it it might go black again your screen might go black it's completely fine then your resolution will obviously change to this one but then you want to go ahead and go back on 1920x1080 and press apply yet again your screen may go black once again while it adjusts and once you've done that you are all good to test out your new resolution just open up fortnite and once you're in game you should know if it has indeed where it doesn't seem mine obviously has you can tell it's stretched like straight away especially with the one I'm using which is 1440 by 1080 but if you do have any issues and yours hasn't worked please let me know in the comment section below and I'll try and help you further but that right there is how you get a stretched resolution in fortnite chapter 4
